Congresswoman Elizabeth Taipe, from Peru Libre, announced that she tested positive for COVID-19 this Friday, January 21, for which she requested leave while she recovers from symptoms.
“I announce that I have tested positive for the COVID-19 test carried out. Due to this, I have requested the corresponding licenses until I complete my recovery process”he wrote this morning.
Elizabeth Taipe was the legislator in charge of supporting, in the plenary session this Friday the 21st, the constitutional accusation against the former President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, for the Obrainsa case.
The report approved by the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations accuses article 126 of the Constitution of a constitutional violation, regarding the prohibition of intervening in the direction or management of private companies and associations. Although no evidence was found that Vizcarra carried out acts in favor of Obrainsa, it is proposed to disqualify him from holding public office for five years.
Taipe Coronado is the 13th legislator to have tested positive for COVID-19 from December 2021 to date.
The confirmed cases to date were Sigrid Bazán, Guillermo Bermejo, Alejandro Cavero, Gladys Echaíz, Alejandro Soto Reyes, Héctor Acuña, Diana Gonzáles, Hernando Guerra García, Roselli Amuruz, Susel Paredes, Kira Alcarraz and Jaime Quito.
