The parliamentarian of Renovación Popular, Cheryl Trigozo, is once again involved in the scandal after Panorama reveals that her main advisor in the Legislature is, nothing more and nothing less, than a character related to Sendero Luminoso who served time for attempting a terrorist attack .
Carlo Magno Pasquel Cárdenas is Trigozo’s main advisor, who was imprisoned in the Miguel Castro Castro prison for following the twisted ideas of the Shining Path terrorist group, led by Abimael Guzmán. Today, this guy earns 17 thousand soles for advising the Renovación Popular parliamentarian.
Why did Trigozo choose someone who was imprisoned for terrorism as his main advisor? The explanation he gave caused much more outrage:
“Well, I have known him for many years, I only know that he is a friend of my family and now, he is working here (Congress),” the parliamentarian said when asked.
Pasquel Cárdenas, according to the Dircote police report signed by then Major Benedicto Jiménez, tried to attack, with a Molotov cocktail, the Aprista Party premises located in the Túpac Amaru neighborhood of Callao, before being detained by the authorities.
The now brand new congressional advisor recounted the planning of the terrorist attack, his part in it, how they met, but, of course, he blamed his other comrades who fled.
“I cannot judge anyone, we all have the right to vindicate ourselves,” said Trigozo, defending his advisor, who has not responded to Sunday’s calls to provide his defense. Will the Popular Renewal party take action on the matter?
