Despite the fact that in recent days it has become known that the new government does not seek to eliminate the tax from the 4×1000 that is charged at banks and on the contrary the three days without VAT they would not go any further, from the Congress of the Republic they will insist on these two bills.
According to Senator Ciro Ramírez, the caucus of the Democratic Center, the only opposition party, will seek to present a series of projects in the economic commissions, among them that the three days without VAT and the solidarity income that was created in the midst of the pandemic to help the most vulnerable families become State policies.
“Several projects will be filed in the sense of the austerity of public spending, the three days without VAT as a State policyreduction of Congress and others that we will be announcing in the coming days,” said the senator.
Regarding the tax reform, he pointed out that, “We will be pending the filing of the tax reform to review it thoroughly and have a proposal as an opposition party”.

For her part, the representative to the Chamber, Katherine Miranda, assured that the bill of his authorship that seeks the gradual dismantling of the 4×1000, and that has already passed its first debate in Congresswill continue to be debated in this legislature.
He pointed out that he will speak with the new finance minister, José Antonio Ocampo, about the importance of this initiative, “the 4×1000 has already passed debate in Congress and is going to plenary, and I am going to defend him, we will have a discussion with the minister”.

If this initiative is approved, the process of eliminating the tax would be gradual, starting in 2023 it will be 3×1,000, in 2024 2×1,000, in 2025 1×1,000 and from 2026 it will no longer be in force.
For her part, Senator Liliana Bitar will file a bill that seeks to create the Entrepreneurship Fund for Women (FEM), as an instrument to promote entrepreneurship and employment.
