The congressmen of the Democratic Change-Together for Peru caucus: Edgard Reymundo, Ruth Luque and Sigrid Bazán sent a letter to the president peter castle attributing to him “part of the responsibility for the political crisis” that the country is going through.
In the document, which is signed by only three of the five members of the block – neither Roberto Sánchez, Minister of Foreign Trade, nor Isabel Cortez signs the statement – they ask the president, in addition, to evaluate the performance of his ministers, including Prime Minister Aníbal Torres , and eventually remove them from office; strengthen the National Police to find the fugitives former Minister of Transportation Juan Silva, his nephew Fray Vásquez and the owner of the house in Sarratea Alejandro Sánchez, and ensure the autonomy of the justice system.
In the opposition, however, there is skepticism about this position taken by a faction of Cambio Democrático, a group related to the government.

CALL FOR CONCRETE ACTIONS
The first vice president of Congress, Martha Moyano, disagreed with what Reymundo, Luque and Bazán pointed out and specified that the only person responsible for the crisis is Pedro Castillo. Likewise, she summoned her colleagues to act accordingly to her new position and translate it into her support for the third presidential vacancy motion that has the endorsement of 60 legislators to date.
The non-grouped legislator Roberto Chiabra, for his part, told Peru21 that apparently his colleagues “are realizing that there is a lot of evidence of corruption.”
“They have maintained their support until the last moment, they have never criticized the prime minister’s message of incitement to violence, nor President Castillo’s message of division, and even less have they criticized the fact that he summons groups that incite violence to the Government Palace. What do they gain by signing a letter if at the time of voting they vote against the vacancy? I think they are going to continue pointing out that there is nothing that compromises the president; They do not admit that the president, in addition to being incompetent, is accused of being the alleged leader of an organization of family and friends who take advantage of power for their own benefit, ”he commented.
On the same subject, the parliamentarian for the Alliance for Progress, Eduardo Salhuana, stated that Cambio Democrático would be “trying to distance itself from an increasingly complicated scenario for the government.”
“They are trying to distance themselves, suddenly it is a background policy or suddenly it is just a position to try to show a critical position. If they wanted to show a strong opposition to the government, which handles public affairs very poorly in the country, they should evaluate supporting institutional solutions to the crisis, evaluate the vacancy motion, ”he indicated.
