The congressman and alternate spokesperson for Popular Action, José Arriola, criticized that the Executive, through the presidential secretary Carlos Jaico, will invite the spokesman, Elvis Vergara, to the meeting with the President Pedro Castillo since it is a “meeting of party leaders”. Along these lines, he rejected that the invitation to the regional governor of Cajamarca, Mesías Guevara, who has served as the AP presidency, has also been extended.
“I was aware of the invitation sent by the presidential secretary to Vergara, to Guevara, who is not representative in the party because he fulfilled his mandate, and to the party’s general secretary, Edmundo del Águila Morote. I do not agree with the invitation to the first two because, despite the party’s problems, the true representation is that of Mr. Edmundo because he has a resolution from the National Electoral Committee. The meeting that Castillo has called seems good to me, but the Executive should only have invited the secretary because it is a meeting of leaders, not spokespersons for benches. Let it be very clear ”, he declared to Peru21.
It should be remembered that in the context, Del Águila Morote reported that he will not attend the meeting with the president for the same reason. “I have learned of the agenda published by the Government Palace Press Secretariat in relation to the meetings of the President of the Republic, for today Monday 6, with political leaders in which ACCION POPULAR is included in representation of those who have a mandate expired as Party President and, additionally, the spokesperson for the caucus who does not have legal representation of ACCION POPULAR has been invited. Regarding this, Arriola remarked that he is also a spokesperson, “but I am not going to go because the meeting is simply with the leaders. No party, on Friday, has sent its spokesperson. The heads of the parties have gone, now they have had to respect that and summon engineer Del Águila ”.
