Congressman Jorge Montoya files complaint against Verónika Mendoza for calling for insurgency

Congressman Jorge Montoya filed a complaint against Verónika Mendoza for crime prevention and wants them to be held responsible, through a document sent to the Attorney General of the Nation, Juan Carlos Villena Campana.

“On June 13, Mrs. Verónika Mendoza (…) made a series of anti-democratic proclamations, contrary to the legal order and urging the population to rise up against the democratic order before the elections”Montoya writes in the document.

According to the congressman, this aggravates article 349 of the Penal Code, generates dangerous and high-risk situations that could lead to crimes of riots and conspiracy to commit rebellion, sedition or mutiny. It should be noted that Verónika Mendoza, during her participation in a political rally in Cusco, rejected the legitimacy of Dina Boluarte’s government.
