congressman edgar tello (Bloc Magisterial) said he hoped that his bench would be part of the Alliance for Progress (APP) list that would lead the next Board of Directors 2022-2026 when María del Carmen Alva’s term as president of Parliament ends.
The parliamentarian pointed out that from his bench they are talking with other groups in search of an agreement to be part of the Board of Directors that leads the Legislative for a whole year.
“As part of the democratic process, we are in talks with different parties and We hope to reach an agreement with Alianza para el Progreso in order to be part of that list that will run for the Board of Directors.”, he declared for Successful.
In this sense, Tello said that if they do not reach a consensus with APP to be part of their list, they will try to join another that also applies for the positions of president and vice president of Parliament.
“In any case, we will see another alternative list that we can present with the benches that we have been coordinating and that confirm their participation (…) We do not rule out any alliance, any consensus with any bench to be able to be part of this application for the Board of Directors”, he stated.
Acuña on Board of Directors
Last Tuesday, the founder of the APP party, Cesar Acunaasked that the agreement be respected for a congressman from his caucus to be the one who leads the Congress after the departure of Maria del Carmen Alva of the presidency. In addition, he said he had no agreement with President Pedro Castillo.
“Let’s first hope that last year’s agreement is respected. According to the agreement of the benches, this year the president of Congress must be from APP”, he declared for the press from Trujillo.
“There is no alliance with President Pedro Castillo, we are acting and thinking of the best for the country”, he added.
