Mario Díaz-Balart predicts that there will be a drastic change in policies from the United States towards Venezuela that would bring more sanctions
Republican congressman Mario Díaz-Balart said on Tuesday, November 12, that the administration of Nicolás Maduro, as well as those of Nicaragua and Cuba, would not support a new government of Donald Trump; This is due to speculation from various media outlets that Marco Rubio is nominated as Secretary of State.
In an interview with NTN24, Díaz-Balart stated that “to begin with” a “dramatic change of attitude” would be evident in the United States regarding these countries, starting in the Venezuelan case with the return of sanctions and withdrawal of oil licenses for ” not to give relief, encouragement, oxygen and unilateral concessions to the enemies of his own people.
In that sense, he highlighted that there is “a lot” that the US can do diplomatically and economically with its allies in the region to put pressure. He stressed that Washington’s allies should be “happy” because there will be “real leadership” in the White House.

He believes that Marco Rubio is “prepared” to assume the Secretary of State because he is a person who knows and understands Trump’s policies, as well as knows what the reality of the hemisphere is.
Mario Díaz-Balart’s statements coincide with what he said Jaime Florezadvisor to the president-elect of the United States, about what the real estate magnate will do “organizing the house” once he assumes power for a new period in the White House and being able to “recover common sense.”
He highlighted that Donald Trump’s position on Venezuela is present, but it will not be made public until he takes office and the officials who will fully dedicate themselves to the issue are appointed.
