After the act of the suspension of Mayor Romulo Cayllahua Paytán was made official, the congressman from Peru Libre, Alfredo Pariona Sinche, asked the National Elections Jury for the vacancy of the aforementioned mayor.

It should be remembered that it was the plenary session of the Municipal Council of Huancavelica who decided to suspend the mayor of Huancavelica for 30 days due to his state of health and temporary physical incapacity of the mayor.
“This is the second time that the Municipal Council has suspended the mayor, Rómulo Cayllahua, but this time we hope that the National Elections Jury will do its job and take the corresponding actions in this case,” commented parliamentarian Pariona Sinche.
He added: “For this reason, I have formulated a Petition to the President of the National Elections Jury, Jorge Luis Salas Arenas, vacating the current mayor.”
The aforementioned document was presented on August 3 with file number: JNE202256575.
However, it is not the first case that has been presented, on previous occasions, Pariona Sinche also filed complaints with the Public Ministry highlighting the absence of the mayor in the municipal office for several months.
Likewise, the mayor did not respond once, only his municipal manager, Alexander García Palma, did show his face at that time and stated that on the occasion that the congressman arrived with a prosecutor, the mayor was on a service commission, which could not be demonstrated effectively.
He also confirmed on more than one occasion that the mayor is in poor health.

To date, another vacancy process weighs on the mayor, which must be evaluated by the National Elections Jury.
As if that were not enough, there is another process, on July 27 the hearing was suspended where another possible preventive detention against the mayor would be seen, which was modified for next Friday, August 5.
