The Constitutional Court (TC) declared unfounded the lawsuit presented by 25% of the legal number of congressmen against Law 31520, which weakens the university reform, a norm that a large sector of legislators promoted in Parliament and modifies the Board of Directors of the Sunedu.
The reason for this apparent contradiction would be to grant constitutional weight to the aforementioned law now that the lawsuit against it has been rejected.
Congresswoman Flor Pablo (IyD) maintained on her social networks that the plaintiff congressmen “sought to lose the lawsuit for the counter-reform to be declared constitutional and thus render void the amparo that had paralyzed the application of the law.”
Constitutionalist lawyer Luciano López told Peru21 that it is a maneuver with overtones of “procedural fraud”. However, he noted that the TC still needs to make public the content of its sentence and the motivations that support it.
Among the 33 firms that signed this appeal before the TC were congressmen mainly from Peru Libre, Fuerza Popular, Renovación Popular and Podemos Peru.
