“The legislature is going to be extended, I don’t have the exact date, but we have to see important issues, such as bicamerality,” held.

Along these lines, he defended the importance of the bicameral system and parliamentary re-election in Congress, based on the comparative experience he has gathered from meetings with parliamentarians from other countries.

The bicamerality is essential to have better laws and not from now on, since 2000 there has been a bicameral project. Individually, for me, it has always been a Popular Action proposal. I have talked with congressmen and senators from other countries, the bicamerality is vital, the functioning of the Congress with two chambers is different”he explained.

“There is no non-reelection anywhere in the world, you see the difference when there is experience, no one is forced to be reelected and reelection in Peru is very low”, he expressed.

The current legislature was extended last month until July 8, the date currently in force.
