The president of the National Business Support Network for Environmental Protection (Ecored), Dania Heredia, expressed her concern about global warming and the urgent need for a radical change towards a sustainable economic system.

«Companies must lead this transformation, aligning themselves with the needs of the planet,” he stated, referring to the fact that these issues will be analyzed on October 2, at the ninth edition of the annual congress “Sustainable Profits.”«, which will address the impact of waste management and other aspects in the fight against climate change.

He reported that “Sustainable Profits” will bring together national and international experts, as well as representatives of the public and private sectors, to debate and share experiences on innovative solutions that promote compliance with the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals and the framework agreements. on climate change and environmental management, such as the Paris Agreement.

The agenda will include topics such as impact finance, mandatory and voluntary sustainability standards of the Sustainability Financial Standards (IFRS), the implementation of financing tools for biodiversity, among others.

He stated that Ecored, as a leader in business sustainability in the Dominican Republic, seeks to promote dialogue and collaboration to face the country’s most urgent environmental challenges.

The “Sustainable Profits” conference will be held from 8:30 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon. It is sponsored by Ecored member companies. In the “Platinum” category are Banco BHD, Banco Popular, Cemex, Claro Dominicana and Metaldom; in the “Gold”, the CapCana Foundation and Grupo Rica.
