The congressman Jaime Quito Sarmiento of the Socialist Caucus asked the Comission of Supervision and Comptrollership of Congress to be summoned as an emergency interim president of the Republic, José Jeríin order to report on an alleged irregular meeting with a Chinese businessman linked to Nicanor Boluarte on December 26 in a private location.
Through Official Letter N. 0748-2024-2025/BJQS-CR, addressed to the president of the commission, Elvis Vergara MendozaQuito expressed concern about the lack of transparency in the official activities of the Presidency in charge.
According to a newspaper report issued by Fine PointI, J.erí Oré would have held a meeting with businessman Zhihua Yang, who maintains contractual ties with Nicanor Boluarte, brother of the former president and investigated for alleged influence peddling, bribery and criminal organization.
The parliamentarian points out that the meeting would have taken place in a private location and that Jerí would have entered hooded to hide his identity. Furthermore, it warns that said meeting would not have been officially registered as part of the institutional activities of the Presidency of the Republic.
“In addition, said meeting would not have been officially registered as part of the activities of the Presidency of the Republic, likewise, the explanation provided on social networks after the facts became known is that it would be coordination for the Peru – China Friendship Day, which is not credible since it has not been carried out in accordance with official protocols or with a competent authority,” the letter reads.
José Jerí arrived hooded and carrying a chest to a meeting with a Chinese businessman
According to the report of Final Point, President José Jerí met on the night of December 26 with theChinese businessman Zhihua Yang for the time of an hour and a half in a chifa located in the district of San Borja.
Presidency confirmed the meeting and specified that the purpose was to talk about the Peru – China Friendship Day. In addition, he explained that the way in which the president attended, hooded, was to avoid being photographed.

The building in which said meeting took place is located on block 19 of San Luis Avenue. Several companies operate there that are related to businessmen of Chinese origin. Among which are Tengda Cerámica SAC, which in the past obtained tenders from the State and which, in addition, contracted the professional services ofNicanor Boluarte during 2023 and 2024.
Likewise, in the perimeter of the place there are other companies related to the Chinese businessman, who is general manager of Hidroeléctrica América SAC, a company that has the concession for the Hidroeléctrica Pachachaca 2 project, in the Apurímac region.
América Capon SAC is another company also related to the businessman, and which also required the services of Boluarte in 2023.
