Fux claims to maintain a number of deputies in the 2026 elections

The president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) announced this Wednesday (3) the call for tomorrow (4) of a session of the National Congress to vote exclusively on the 2026 Budget Guidelines Bill (LDO) (PLN2/2025). The vote paves the way for the final analysis of the Budget.Congress should meet this Thursday to vote on the LDO

This Wednesday, the CMO approved the revenue report, with an increase of R$13.2 billion in revenue in relation to what was predicted in the Executive’s original project, which establishes a total of approximately R$2.6 trillion.

The expectation is that the collegiate will move forward in voting on the sectoral reports. After approval of the preliminary opinion and sectoral reports, the CMO votes on the final text proposed by the rapporteur, deputy Isnaldo Bulhões Jr. (MDB-AL). Only after that, the matter goes to the Plenary of the National Congress.

According to Alcolumbre, he and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), have been liaising with members of the Mixed Budget Committee (CMO) and party leaders in an attempt to adjust the progress of the proposal and the draft Annual Budget Law (LOA) for 2026 (PLN 15/25), which foresees total Union revenue for the 2026 financial year in the amount of R$ 6.530 trillion.

If work progresses, there is a possibility that the Budget will be voted on by the 17th. According to the Constitution, the Legislative Branch must vote on the LOA project and send it to the President of the Republic for approval by December 22nd.
