The Congress of the Republic has demanded the Executive power repeal Supreme Decree No. 034-2022-PCM, which established the curfew for this Tuesday, April 5, in Lima and Callao due to the imminent strike of transporters that was planned today.
At the end of the Board of Spokespersons, the Legislative Branch decided to exhort the Government of peter castle annul the measure enacted last Monday, April 4, almost at midnight. In addition, urged the president not to resort to provisions that restrict rights as an outlet to solve social discontent.
“We demand that the Executive Branch repeal this supreme decree and not resort to measures that restrict fundamental rights, as a way out to solve this crisis”, they announced through a statement shared on Twitter.

They also expressed concern about the decision of the Executive to decree the curfewbecause -according to the Lima Chamber of Commerce- this measure will generate economic losses.
On the other hand, they reported that a meeting with the president peter castle and its Ministers of State, scheduled for this Tuesday at 3 pm, is still part of the Parliament’s activities.
“We ratify our political decision to address solutions for the benefit of the population, which allow us to overcome this crisis produced by the Government,” they said.
