The Permanent Commission of the Congress agreed this Friday to request the Power of attorney to issue an order preventing the exit of the country against the parliamentarians and former ministers Betsy Chavez and Roberto Sanchez for an alleged flight risk. This after the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations approve the final report that recommends indicting them for the alleged crimes of rebellion and conspiracy. The decision was adopted with 18 votes in favor, 3 against and no abstentions.
The initiative was proposed by the apepista Lady Camonespresident of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, based on the grounds reached the day before by the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides.
In said report, Benavides Vargas reminds parliamentarians that the Supreme Court (Preparatory Investigation Court and Permanent Criminal Chamber) has endorsed in previous cases the imposition of restrictive measures against senior officials.
With this, Camones Soriano proposed to the Permanent Commission to request that the Judicial Power impose an impediment to leaving the country against the former president of the Council of Ministers and the former Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism “given the imminent possibility of evading the action of justice by being included in the final report of constitutional complaint 328 filed by the National Prosecutor.
