Prime Minister Aníbal Torres appears today at 4 pm before the Plenary of Congress to request a vote of confidence from his cabinet. At the moment the outcome is uncertain, due to the presence of the Ministers of Health, Hernán Condoriand Transport, Nicholas Bustamante.
At the close of this note, there were 66 votes against confidence: 24 of People’s Forceeight of Popular Action, 11 of Alliance for Progress (APP)10 from Avanza País, nine from Renovación Popular, one from Podemos Perú and three from the Purple Party.
In favor of the investiture are 57 parliamentarians: 32 of Free Peruseven from Democratic Peru, five from Somos Peru, four from Podemos Peru, two from Together for Peru (JP) and seven from AP.

Waiting for Together for Peru
So far, the only fixed in JP who will support the cabinet are Congressman Roberto Sánchez, who is Minister of Tourism and Foreign Tradeand the alternate spokeswoman Elizabeth Cortez. The other members of this bench will wait for the Prime Minister’s statement to make a decision.
Cortez said that last week his bench met to see the issue and agreed that they will await the presentation of the chief of staff. He affirmed, in a personal capacity, that he will vote in favor of the investiture. “We cannot go against democracy,” he argued.
The congresswoman considers that the presence of the ministers of Health and Transportation is not a determining factor in denying confidence to the cabinet. “So far there is no sentence,” she argued.

Discrepancies in Popular Action
In Popular Action they do not agree. Your alternate spokesperson, Joseph Arriola, commented to La República that this would be the first time that his bench did not vote as a block. With the previous cabinets, all the pro-action legislators voted in favor. But this time it could be different.
“The spirits are heated with what came out in a report that involves the party. Until last week, it was half to half that they were in favor of trust, more than anything because of the latest events”, explained the legislator to this newspaper.
“If we give confidence, they will say that it is one more example of collusion (…) Now this situation occurs. We should vote against confidence,” added the alternate spokesperson.

Last Sunday, ‘Punto final’ revealed that senior officials of the Ministry of Production have links with acciopopulistas. Giving confidence, acknowledges Arriola, would show that AP is close to the government.

The reason is mainly that the government did not change Minister Condori and did not find a good replacement for former Transport Minister Juan Silva. Bustamante was his general secretary. For Salhuana, this evidences the continuity in the MTC.

Condori censorship underway
The motion of censure against the Minister of Health, Hernán Condori, will be voted on in plenary this Thursday 10.
