The motion not only repudiates the actions of the Venezuelan government, but also calls on the international community and Peruvian citizens to remain attentive to developments in VenezuelaThe objective is to facilitate a peaceful transition that will allow the rule of law to be restored and the quality of life of Venezuelan citizens to improve. “Let this be the beginning of a transition towards sustainable peace,” the document states.
Following the dissemination of this motion, it is expected that in the coming days it will be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors of Congress Peruvian. If so, it will be formally discussed in the plenary session of Congress for eventual official implementation.
Peru recognizes Edmundo González Urrutia as president of Venezuela
Peru has been one of the first countries to recognize Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia as the winner of the last presidential elections in Venezuela. This was also confirmed by the data presented by the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), which shows that he exceeded 70%.
