Through a statement in social networks, the legislator described the minister as a “criminal protector” and assured that a person with that characteristic “cannot be minister of any portfolio.”
The parliamentarian concluded her message with a direct warning to the head of Justice: “Santiváñez, again, we are going to censor you!”

The censorship motions against Santiváñez and Arana are based on a journalistic report that disseminated an audio in which, Santiváñez would be heard – in his previous position as Minister of the Interior – talking with the then Minister of Justice, Eduardo Arana.
In the audio, the transfer of an inmate is heard “very fast”, identified as Miguel Marcelo Outrosas, aka “El Diablo”, who was a client of Santiváñez. The journalistic report accuses Santiváñez of having converted his “ministerial office into a private firm” and continuing to act as a lawyer of his client.
