Betssy Chávez points out that she was not notified to exercise her right of defense
The former president of Congress, Betssy Chávez, through an official letter, informed the president of Congress, José Williams, that she was not notified to attend the plenary session and exercise her right to defense for the accusation of rebellion after Pedro Castillo announced the dissolution of the Legislature.
Said convocation was sent by the senior officer of Parliament, Jose CevascoAt the request of the head of the Board of Directors, Joseph Williams, for legislators to attend presidentially.
Also, Liz Patricia Benavides VargasProsecutor of the Nation, informed the presidency of the Legislature that preliminary proceedings are being carried out not only against Castillo, but also against the former Prime Minister Betssy Chávez and former Interior Minister Willy Huerta.
“Communication is aimed at guarantee fundamental rights and the purpose of the criminal process, since Mr. José Pedro Castillo Terrores is in judicial detention for flagrante delictoin accordance with the provisions of judicial resolutions number 2 and 3 dated December 8 and 9, 2022, ordered by the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation with an expiration date of December 14, 2022 at 1:42 p.m. ”, is indicated in the trade of Public ministry.
