Congress: Edward Málaga seeks to recognize Vargas Llosa for admission to the French Academy

The congressman published the greeting motion on his Twitter account and requested that “its reading be prioritized in plenary.”

Congressman Edward Málaga presented a motion of greeting in favor of the writer Mario Vargas Llosa in order to recognize him for his incorporation into the French Academy of Language as the first Spanish-speaking author to enter this highest institution.

According to this request, the career of the writer would also be recognized, described as “indisputable cultural ambassador of Peru”, “remarkable Peruvian” and “iconic living figure of world literature”.

The motion also expresses that this event means a “cultural milestone” for Peru and Latin America.

“We have presented a motion for Congress to recognize and congratulate the incorporation of our Nobel Prize winner, Mario Vargas Llosa, to the French Academy of Language. On such an important date for Peruvian literature, we request that the reading of this motion be prioritized in the Plenary”, subscribes the document shared, through Twitter, by the congressman.
