The Plenary of Congress debate this afternoon the request of several parliamentary benches to resume the debate on the bills that propose an advance of the general elections.
The president of Parliament, José Williams, confirmed that the issue will be put to the plenary for consideration at the end of the debate on the constitutional accusation against the former coup leader Pedro Castillo.
“In relation to the request for the Plenary of Congress to authorize processing the initiatives related to the advancement of the general elections, I must inform you that the signatures of the agreement of the spokespersons to expand the agenda have already been completed,” he specified at the beginning of the morning session .

As is known, the spokespersons for six benches signed a request to expand the agenda to “submit to a vote the exception established in the final part of the second paragraph of article 78 of the Regulations of Congress in order to enable the presentation and processing of projects of the constitutional reform law on the advancement of elections”.
