The National Defense Commission approved this Monday the 7th to invite the interior minister, Willy Huertato respond to the repression carried out by the Police in the march against the Government held on Saturday 5.
At the moment, only the decision made by the Commission has been announced, so the date and time on which Huerta Olivas would be invited to attend the Legislative Palace is unknown.
The congressmen of Popular Renewal Jorge Montoya Y Jose Cueto they were the ones who asked Diego Bazán, president of said parliamentary working group, to summon the head of the Ministry to provide explanations about the use of tear gas by police officers against the demonstrators of the last march on November 5.
As is known, the demonstration was called as a protest measure in the face of the political crisis, to demand the call for new general elections.
In accordance with Cueto Aservithe invitation to the Minister of State should be considered “urgently” to be held in an ordinary or extraordinary session as soon as possible.
“I request that you can request a detailed and detailed report regarding the actions of the police forces during the marches”reads the document sent by Cueto.
For its part, Montoya maintained that the performance of the police officers was “abusive and excessive” since it was a peaceful march. Likewise, he specified that the tear gas bombs put the integrity of the attendees at risk.
“During the march (…) the abusive use of mounted police and excessive use of tear gas against a peaceful demonstrationin which there was a large number of older adults, noting an intention to provoke a reaction from the aforementioned protesters, to the point of putting their lives at risk”, specifies the document sent by Montoya to Diego Bazán.
