The measure was approved with 94 votes in favor, 14 against and 8 abstentions. This time, a total of 10 congressmen from Peru Libre voted in favor of the censorship of Geiner Alvarado. The same thing happened in Fuerza Popular. In this group, 24 parliamentarians supported the measure against Head of Transport and Communications.
The support was also reflected in the benches of Avanza País, Renovación Popular, Alianza para el Progreso, Acción Popular and Somos Perú. Meanwhile, the Bloc Magisterial and Cambio Democrático group opposed this initiative.
Precisely, the parliamentarian Pasión Dávila raised the previous question so that the Constitution Commission be consulted if Minister Alvarado can be censured for events that occurred when he was head of the Housing portfolio.
However, with 83 votes against, 18 in favor and 4 abstentions, the measure proposed by Dávila was rejected.
Also, during the debate, the defense of Geiner Alvarado filed an amparo action lawsuit against 35 congressmen for promoting a motion of censure with “facts outside their portfolio.”
