This Monday, September 30, a meeting of the Board of Spokespersonsafter the president of Congress,Eduardo Salhuanawill convene the members of the Board of Directors and the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups in order to evaluate whether the plenary session is brought forward to Tuesday, October 1, in order to discuss the projects urban terrorism. According to the summons sent to the members of the Board of Spokespersons, the meeting will take place at 2:00 pm.
The summons comes after the president of Congress proposed advancing the Plenary session to debate the variousurban terrorism bills. Initially, the debate was scheduled for October 3, but Salhuana considered bringing forward the plenary session due to the truckers’ strike.

Urban terrorism laws will be debated in plenary session
Before that, Salhuana had already said that he would give it priority given the urgency of a response to the growing wave of insecurity facing the country. However, Salhuana explained that there would be around 20 bills – presented by parliamentarians and authorities – that address this issue, which will be put to a vote after the debate.
In addition, Salhuana also announced that, apart from the proposals on urban terrorism that will be debated in the plenary session, they are being prepared25 billsrelated to thecitizen security, which must be evaluatedand ruled between October 15 and 20 by the Defense, Economy and Decentralization commissions and will reach the plenary session no later than October 30.
Finally, in relation tothe actions that the State has implemented after the strikeof the transporters, the president of Parliament indicated that, “increasing penalties is appropriate in certain cases. However, this must be accompanied by a more agile Judiciary and a Public Ministry that has the necessary tools, personnel and determination.”
