In that same line of rejection of the trip, the spokesman for the Bank for Honor and Democracy, Jorge Montoya, said that President Boluarte should not visit the Vatican, and that he could send Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer.

For its part, the head of the Congress, Eduardo Sallejuana, said that President Boluarte if he must move to the Vatican because Peru is a Catholic country.
