With 77 votes in favor, one against and zero abstentions, the agenda proposed by the majority of parliamentarians present in the plenary session was approved. The only vote against was from parliamentarian Luis Kamiche Morante of the Alianza Para el Progreso bench.
The proposal was prioritized and put on the agenda by parliamentarians José Cueto, Edward Málaga, among other congressmen. After the vote, the plenary session was suspended until 3:00 pm, the time at which the ministers will arrive to declare the situation in the country.
Initially, the presence of only the Minister of the Interior, Carlos Malaver, was requested; However, later, they decided that the invitation extended to the president of the Council of Ministers, Eduardo Arana and finally agreed to invite the 19 ministers.
At the beginning, the invitation from the authorities was being debated, but it was requested to go ahead with the vote. Following the decision, it is expected that the situation of the motion of censure against the Minister of Culture, Fabricio Valencia, which was scheduled for today, will be updated.
