The Plenary of Congress approved this Thursday to modify Law 28890, which creates the program Sierra and Jungle Exporterin order to promote its powers, structure, scope of intervention and establishes that, from now on, it will be called Agromercado.
The president of the Agrarian Commission, congresswoman Vivian Olivos (Popular Force), supported the law initiative stating that it seeks to establish a new entity that allows the promotion of productive competitiveness, added value, innovation and territorial development in the areas of agriculture , livestock, beekeeping, among other activities.

In addition, the rule, which was approved with 107 votes in favor, one vote against and two abstentions, has the purpose of Agromercado promoting technology transfer and adoption of new technologies, with the support of public and private entities, which allow the increase of productivity and the development of productive value chains of small and medium producers.
As part of the general provisions, it was indicated that Agromercado will have a legal status under public law, with technical, functional, administrative, economic and financial autonomy, which constitutes a budget statement.
It will also carry out its activities at the national level through decentralized bodies that it will progressively implement according to its budget availability.
