The investigation was made known through a statement signed by the Mayor’s Office and released by parliamentarian Fernando Rospigliosi. This process, which began on October 31, will seek to establish who authorized the transfer and use of the state equipment, what the exact participation of public personnel was, and whether Keiko Fujimori or her campaign team requested or had knowledge of this alleged irregular service.
“In order to find administrative responsibility and immediately sanction those who fail to comply with said prohibitive regulations,” the statement reads.
For its part, the group Popular Force has tried to minimize the seriousness of the accusations, arguing that the server involved in the events referred to had already submitted his resignation letter on Saturday, November 1. This generates suspicion, since resignation requests are presented on business days and not on weekends.
Despite the statement from Congress, the images broadcast by Sol TV have shown that the Fuerza Popular party would be making inappropriate use of State assets, which could be configured in a case of embezzlement of usewhich aggravates the investigation initiated by Parliament.
Congressmen speak out against Fuerza Popular
Parliamentarian Sigrid Bazán demanded that the National Election Jury act ex officio and find out who was responsible for giving the order for the use of the Congress chamber in a Fuerza Popular political event.
“How is it that a chamber of Congress, controlled by Fuerza Popular, ends up in a Fuerza Popular political event in Trujillo? No one can pretend to wash their hands saying that this is the fault of a single worker. Who gave the order? We urge the JNE to act ex officio,” he wrote in his X account.
For her part, parliamentarian Ruth Luque supported what was said by her colleague Bazán and assured that the use of a camera at the Fujimori rally would not be the work of a single servant. “Fujimorism presides over Congress and they have used a camera that is for the exclusive purposes of the institution, and they do so at the launch of Keiko Fujimori’s campaign and are they talking about an alleged functional misconduct of a servant?” wrote the legislator.
