This Friday face-to-face dialogue between Conaprole management and directors of the Association of Workers and Employees of Conaprole will resume (AOEC), link suspended several weeks ago and which has as its framework a union conflict started at the beginning of Maywith a focus on differences regarding the number of workers that must operate a new packaging machine that the cooperative imported from Europe for the packaging of ultra-pasteurized milk.
Federico Daverede, national director of Labor, reported this after a meeting at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS), held this Thursday.
In a press conference, he explained that in a “very good” instance, a proposal was transferred to the workers based on “two times”.
First, this Friday, there will be a tripartite meeting (company, workers and the MTSS) to establish parameters for the bottling company to return to work and the workers to enter the Rodríguez plantin San José, during the next 30 days.
Then, during those 30 days, there will be instances to continue discussing specifically about the staffing to operate that machine “and other things that are on the table”.
Once this Thursday’s meeting was agreed, AOEC suspended all union measures and work in the Conaprole industrial complexes was normalized, except in the UHT milk packaging line, where the machine that caused the difference is located.
After noting that there is optimism from the moment this meeting was generatedadmitted that Reaching a solution will depend on the will of the parties, on whether both can move from the positions in which they have been.
Daverede, about conflicts that occur when there is incorporation of technology, it is a discussion “that must be given”he affirmed, in order to have the “oiled dynamism” so that when it happens there is no conflict or supply problems.
The meeting this Thursday was attended by Minister Pablo Mieres, Undersecretary Mario Aristi and Daverede for the ministry, together with representatives of AOEC, the Federation of Dairy Industry Workers (FTIL) and the PIT CNT, which promoted this instance with a management of its president, Marcelo Abdala.
