Lto the national direction of the MAS issued a public statement regarding the celebration of January 22, commemorative day of the Plurinational State. From the MAS, its militancy is invited to celebrate the anniversary. Not I know refers to official acts promoted by the National Executive nor to the various calls of social organizations.
“To the Departmental Directorates of the MAS IPSP at the national and international level, celebrate in a big way, in a united way. responsible and organized, the 14 years of the re-foundation of our Plurinational State of Bolivia, fostered and consolidated thanks to the tireless struggle of the peoples”, says the call launched this Monday. In the text social organizations no longer appear of the unity pact that the Morales government has always supported.
On January 7, the Government called a meeting of all the organizations that support the executive. In said meeting, a massive concentration in La Paz was approved to celebrate the day of the Plurinational State. that calling provoked the anger of the head of the MAS, Evo Moraleswho complained about not being invited and decided to travel to Argentina on this date.
Since Monday, organizations related to the Government published sectoral calls to concentrate on La Paz and celebrate with the Executive the Day of the Plurinational State. The National Executive Committee (CEN) of the COB and the peasants of the Csutcb are some of the organizations that launched their calls
“To every organization committed with the recovery of democracy, to participate in the massive concentration for the ‘Day of the Plurinational State of Bolivia’ that will take place in the department of La Paz on Sunday, January 22, 2023, the concentration will be in Plaza Murillo from hours 09 :00” indicates the COB document.
This Tuesday, the peasant leaders from the north of Potosí arrived in La Paz and expressed their support for the two leaders, Lucho and David. Before the media they reiterated their presence on Sunday to the concentration called by the authorities. At no time did the leaders mention the MAS as the architect of this celebration.
“We are the vanguard, soldiers of our president Lucho and David, we are going to defend his management of our president Lucho and David as a province of Tomás Frías,” a local peasant leader harangued. “From Chapare come the deputies who have stood out of the process of change,” he added.
In the call launched by the MAS, the first two leaders are not mentioned nor is the city of La Paz mentioned as the center of all the acts. During the administration of Evo Morales, January 22 was the day of the presidential message and it was customary to change or ratify his cabinet of ministers. Luis Arce buried that “tradition” in his mandate.
