At COLEME they propose a new exit
From the Federation of Dairy Industry Workers they presented a new proposal to the Ministry and the Company that would allow unblocking the conflict generated by the dismissal of 9 officials.
Within the framework of the presence in Melo of the Labor and Social Security Legislation Commission, the main leaders of the union also arrived to continue with the negotiations.
There is a new proposal for a solution to the complex situation and the response from the cooperative’s Board of Directors is awaited.
“When we place this issue at the level of the different public complaints that we go out to make – Legislation and Labor Commission, Labor Affairs -, in the different Ministries where we have gone to knock on the door with great concern about what is being experienced here In Melo, in Cerro Largo we have had good receptivity. That a Commission that works on labor legislation issues in concrete terms, that faces complaints of loss of jobs with union repression by the company, faces complaints of neglect of the productive and work process itself here on the part of the COLEME company. That they are present here has a very positive evaluation for us” said Enrique Mendez in relation to the presence in Melo of Legislators from all Political Parties.
“After the meeting they had with the company, they met with us. They also asked us to hold a press conference at the union headquarters, which we agreed to immediately because we were pleased. It is no small message that contact with the media has been maintained here at the headquarters of the UOEC colleagues.” he stated.
MORE EXECUTIVENESS AND LESS DILATORY
“The Executive Power must be executive and not dilatory” he synthesized. “We are concerned about how all this is going, how all this continues, where practically everyone has agreed with us” he remarked. “Everything is fine, but I am in prison because there is no change in position at the company level. The Minister of Labor himself has acknowledged to us that this has been union repression no matter how you look at it, that in these types of issues COLEME has cared little about the Executive Branch itself or about the workers themselves because in the face of actions that were taken from the Legislatively and from the Executive through the Reconversion Fund, the actions of the cooperative are not in line with what was presented or what it was intended to do.” he pointed out.
Méndez announced that the Federation of Dairy Industry Workers will continue to fight in defense of jobs.
On Friday, the union’s Board met, where the measures that will be taken throughout these two weeks of the traditional festivals and the first days of January of next year were resolved.
NEW SOLUTION PROPOSAL
