José De Los Ángeles Ávila will pay a 12-year prison sentence for the crime against freedom and sexual integrity in the form of carnal rape to the detriment of his stepdaughter, a minor under 12 years of age.
The Darién Oral Trial Section managed to get the Superior Court of Appeals to confirm the sentence in his favor.
During the hearing, the Oral Trial Prosecutor, José David Sánchez, supported his opposition to the request made by the defendant’s defense based on the same elements that were presented as evidence before the Oral Trial Court and were considered important. by the Superior Court of Appeals for the confirmation of the sentence, highlighted the Public Ministry.
Prosecutor Sánchez added that the accused was a person who should have protected the victim and abused his authority to perpetrate the crime, taking advantage of the fact that the minor’s mother was hospitalized, causing physical and mental damage to the victim. The events occurred twice in 2019, in the Pinogana district.
