The president of the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions – ConfiepJorge Zapata Ríos, expressed concern about the announcement of President Dina Boluarte during her message to the Nation on the issue of promoting government to government to execute infrastructure works.
“We do not believe that it is most appropriate (the government mechanism to government). This mechanism should be used only in essential cases because it is expensive and is a bit abdicate to the functions that the Peruvian State has,” he said.
“From the Confiep we bet more on public-private associations, because they allow private investment with return in time, without consuming the immediate public budget,” he added.
He also stressed that the issue of informality has been put on the agenda, a problem that needs concrete and articulated actions.
“We have more informality than our neighbors and that demands a great deregulation campaign. You have to take obstacles to all entrepreneurs, but especially the micro and small business that is the most affected,” he said in that regard.
Along the same lines, Zapata Ríos called that entities such as Sunat, Sunafil and the municipalities, whose demands and control “drown the small entrepreneur”, review their institutional role so as not to discourage formalization.
The key, for Zapata Ríos, is in simplifying processes, giving entrepreneurs confidence and creating real conditions for formal growth.
