Confidence recedes in 24 of 30 industry sectors in November, says CNI

The Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (Icei) dropped in 24 of the 30 sectors analyzed by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) from October to November this year.Confidence recedes in 24 of 30 industry sectors in November, says CNI

Despite the drop, only one sector was below the 50-point line. Everyone else remains confident. Data above this range represents confidence and below, lack of confidence. In November, the Icei for cleaning, perfumery and personal hygiene products was 49.5 points.

The Icei is the result of the average between the perception of current conditions and expectations. In all, 2,340 companies were interviewed in the country between November 3rd and 12th.

CNI economist Larissa Nocko explained today (26) that the result of the Icei was heterogeneous across sectors. “All the components of the Icei fell. When asked about their perception of current economic conditions, only two sectors rated it positively: other transport equipment and wood products. What keeps the indicator for most sectors above 50 points, that is, in a scenario of confidence, are the positive expectations for the next six months, although less optimistic than in the previous month”, explained Larissa, in a statement .

The biggest drops in confidence occurred in the mobile sectors (4.6 points), information technology equipment, electronic products and others (4 points) and metallurgy (3.6 points). Confidence increased mainly in the sectors of other transport equipment (3.3 points), pharmochemicals and pharmaceuticals (2.9 points) and infrastructure works (2 points).
