The Public Ministry reported, through a press release, which a sexagenarian in Cojedes was sentenced to 26 years and 6 months in prison, for being incurred in two acts of sexual abuse committed to the detriment of a 16 -year -old teenager with cognitive disabilities and a child.
The subject was identified as Eustoquio Rivas, 69. The case was reported on January 26, 2023 in the Pedro Camejo sector, belonging to the Manuel Manrique parish in the city of San Carlos of the municipality of Ezequiel Zamora in the Cojedes state.
According to the investigation work, it was corroborated that the victim’s maternal grandfather was the one who noticed physical changes and some alarm symptoms in the young woman, who presents a cognitive disability. Consequently, the teenager was taken to a medical center, where the doctors, after the corresponding exams, confirmed that she presented signs of abuse and also that she was pregnant.
