The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) will remove the social network X, starting this Friday, for 10 days from circulation in Venezuela, so that it can present its findings and establish the definitive administrative measure.
“X must be out of Venezuela for 10 days,” he declared. “In Venezuela there is a law, there is a Constitution, there are institutions, there is a State, there is a people who must be respected,” he stressed.
“I have signed a point of account with the proposal made by Conatel. Enough is enough, we have to defeat the cyber coup. Someday, sooner rather than later, Venezuelan social networks will be born, we defend the truth. They intended a cyber coup“He said, referring to social media owners Elon Musk and Mark Elliot Zuckerberg.
He also highlighted that social network X was used as a platform to multiply hate messages. “Elon Musk has violated all the rules of social network X itself, which used to be Twitter, inciting hatred, fascism, civil war, death, confrontation between Venezuelans, violating all the laws of Venezuela,” he said to justify his decision to block access to Elon Musk’s social network for 10 days.
Maduro claims that these individuals are insisting on a cyber attack against Venezuela. “We are still being attacked,” he said from the Miraflores Palace upon receiving the mobilization of the Communes and Social Movements held this Thursday in defense of peace and expressing his support for the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
Maduro insisted that WhatsApp is a spy system and stressed to the attendees the importance of leaving this social network, because
“It’s time to free ourselves from WhatsApp. No one will silence me, I will face the espionage of the technological empire,” he said.
WhatsApp worked with Colombian drug traffickers to attack Venezuela
Maduro said that for months the messaging platform WhatsApp worked with Colombian drug trafficking to spy on Venezuela and execute the fascist plan.
The president said that Venezuela is fighting a cyber attack by the power of the technological empire, which attacked the entire electoral system.
In this regard, he stated that “Whatsapp gave them all the addresses in Venezuela and for months they prepared, together with Colombian drug trafficking, the threat to Venezuelan society so that the people would be paralyzed with terror.”
Venezuelans were threatened through this application, so he reiterated his message of awareness to the people to stop using this platform, which is owned by the transnational Meta.
He pointed out that more than 70 countries have banned the use of WhatsApp by public officials, military personnel and police officers because “it spies on the world and what I am denouncing, I will continue to denounce, no one will silence me,” he reiterated.
