The National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) denounced on the afternoon of this Friday the 14th the going off the air of two stations in Carabobo state, belonging to the Unión Radio circuit, by order of the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel).
Through a message on his Twitter account, the SNTP explained that they are stations 105.3 FM, parent station of Unión Radio in Carabobo, and Play Top 91.5 FM. In the case of the first, Conatel alleges the termination of the concession.

“We demand that Conatel cease the persecution against radio stations throughout the country. It is a violation of the right to freedom of expression, to information and to work”, highlighted the SNTP.
The Union also expressed its solidarity with the journalists and workers affected by this measure, as well as with all the users of these stations in that state.
On October 11, Conatel closed four Christian issuers in the Cabimas municipality, Zulia state. They were Renewal 89.5 FM, Celestial 96.9 FM, Jerusalen Stereo 98.5 FM and Gilgal Stereo 102.7 FM. The directors of these radio stations alleged that from 2004 to 2014, authorization projects were introduced before the regulatory body, but they never received answers until the closure order.
At the beginning of October, Conatel also ordered the opinion program “Frente al paredón” to go off the air under threats of closing the Sonora 107.7 FM radio station in Portuguesa state.
While on October 7, a document review process was opened to Super 101.5 FM, based in Ocumare del Tuy, Miranda state, for which the board decided to turn off its equipment to avoid sanctions. They have been waiting for an answer for seven years.
