Conaprole increased by 4.6% the price paid to the producer per liter of milk sent to the plant considering the value in national currency, placing it at $17.22 per liter (from the previous $15.90), while in dollars it rises from US$ 0.39 to 40.5 cents per literin an improvement that contemplates the yearning of the producers.

climb it, promised by Conaprole at the end of Januarywas announced by the cooperative’s board this Tuesdayreported to The Observer its vice president, Alejandro Pérez Viazzi.

The indicated prices correspond to the presence of certain levels of solids in the milk (fat and protein), so the real value that each sender obtains will depend on the percentages of those components of the milk.

Confirming another announcement that the company had made to the dairy unions a month ago, it changed the way of calculating the price: “A cooperative member premium was modified, which went down, and in return the basics such as the price of fat and protein,” explained the manager.

From February 1

The increase will apply to all milk sent from February 1 and this new payment value is projected until the end of the company’s fiscal yearon July 31.

However, Pérez Viazzi announced that Conaprole does not rule out new adjustments and bonuses in winterwhich will be evaluated.

“The good prices on the international market allowed us to make an adjustment from October to February, a US$3 million settlement that was paid in February, and the price situation that has been changing for the better allows us to make this announcement. If this situation continues, we are in a position to announce that we will be able to make some other price improvement in these months, such as a winter bonus. to support producers,” he said.

A good sign

Leandro Galarraga, president of the National Association of Milk Producers (ANPL), commented that the news was very well received by dairy farmers, since it comes at a time when production costs are very high, they have even increased in the last time.

“Overcoming the 40-cent barrier is a good sign from the industry for producers”he expressed, since the adjustment occurs “after years of very depressed prices” and “a very strong indebtedness of the producers.”

From the union they will continue to ask Conaprole that, “as far as possible”, prices continue as businesses are attracted at better values in the international market, which is the majority destination of the milk that is industrialized in the country.

“It is very important that good values can be transferred to producers in order to alleviate the consequences of this long crisis that the sector has experienced,” he said.

gender and youth

The ANPL met this Tuesday with authorities from the General Directorate of Rural Development of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP). In this instance, it was agreed to sign an agreement to promote the inclusion of gender and youth in rural areas, Galarraga said.
