The company Fritran S.A. (former Cemesa), dedicated to the distribution of Conaprole ice creamissued a statement in which rejects the accusations of the Federation of Workers in the Dairy Industry (FTIL), accuses the union of lying and details the reasons for which it fired the union president of that firm, the Single Union of Cemesa Employees (Sudec).
In the document, to which he agreed The Observer on the night of this Wednesday, the company “deeply regrets the declaration of conflict” (in the framework of which there will be a 24-hour strike this Thursday, September 8)while “emphatically rejecting the unfounded accusations made by the union.”
Fritran SA maintains that “the union is not telling the truth, pointing out that the company suspended all the workers for attending an assembly. This statement is far from reality, since the sanction (which mostly consisted of a reprimand) was due to the fact that some assistants left the company and did not mark the entrance and exit to work as stipulated. Those who complied with this requirement did not receive any sanction.
In relation to the official who was fired, it is explained that the measure “was the result of an investigation with all the guarantees that proved the commission of offenses by such an entity that were recognized by the union organization itself and that deserved his dismissal.”
The reasons for the dismissal
It was added that “the conduct of the dismissed worker was far from being exemplary and blameless. In fact, had already been subject to sanctions, and the investigation showed that the official was dealing with activities outside his responsibilitysuch as managing your own debt collection management company during working hours and with our firm’s teams”.
Therefore, it was indicated in the statement, “the company denies the violation of agreements and claims its right to manage the company.”
