This Sunday, July 17, the 42nd anniversary of the coup by Luis García Meza Tejada, the National Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade) confirms that his “anti-dictatorial” struggle questioning the Government of the Movement Toward Socialism (PLUS). The Conade affirms that Bolivia lives in current contradiction between democracy and authoritarianism, which is why they are fighting for human rights, democratic pluralism and against totalitarianism.
“We are committed to human rights and democratic pluralism, we vehemently point out that, the more totalitarian action there will be greater resistance, democratic mobilization and construction of a real alternative in favor of the citizen, their rights and for a governance that promotes peace, justice, freedom and; of course, progress for all”, indicates the Committee for Democracy.
Likewise, the Conade said that it will join the mobilizations of the union and health sector, and asked the Bolivian population participate in the demonstrations scheduled for July 21which will take place in the capitals of the nine departments, to reject the bill 249 that was approved in the Chamber of Deputies and request that the political persecution cease.
“The Conade encourages the construction of a plural, democratic and unitary political alternative that guarantees the recovery of the Government for the people, from the hands of the MAS and stop this political vandalism that has perched on the structures of the State, encouraged by corruption, drug trafficking and the authoritarian vision of the new blue elite”, says the Committee about the fight against corruption and drug trafficking.
