The National Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade) filed a complaint this Thursday through ordinary channels against President Luis Arce and two other people for the alleged illegal appointment of the Minister of Mining, Ramiro Villavicencio.
The accusation is for alleged commission of the crimes of illegal appointment and illegal exercise of office. It was delivered to the offices of the Public Ministry of La Paz.
“President Luis Arce could not have appointed Ramiro Villavicencio as Minister of Mining because there is an accusatory document, a complaint from the State Comptroller General against Ramiro Villavicencio”, said Manuel Morales, representative of Conade.
He added that the designation of the authority “has been illegal, it has not been suitable” and set as a precedent the ordinary trial against the former interim president, Jeanine Añez, in the Bolivian Food Company (EBA) case.
“We must remember that the Movement Toward Socialism is generating a legal mess by establish a criminal trial against Mrs. Jeanine Añez in the city of El Alto without going through the regular route, which is the trial of responsibilities, according to the Constitution,” he added.
Also, in the process Villavicencio is also accused of appointing and possessing three executives of the Mining Administrative Jurisdictional Authority without meeting the requirements established by law.
“If for the Movimiento Al Socialismo a former constitutional president can be tried in criminal proceedings, We also believe that we can judge Lucho in criminal proceedingsbecause they are generating this legal anomie, this judicial despotism”, he remarked.
