Brazilian production of processed bags of coffee could be a record and rise 17.1% in 2026, according to a projection released this Thursday (5) by the National Supply Company (Conab).
According to the 1st Coffee Harvest Survey in 2026, The volume produced should total 66.2 million processed bags, surpassing the previous cycle of 2025.
“If the result is confirmed, this will be a new record in the Company’s historical series, surpassing the 2020 harvest, when 63.1 million bags were harvested”, informed Conab.
More land and productivity
The growth is due to factors such as the 4.1% increase in the area used for production, also compared to last year. The estimate is that 1.9 million hectares will be planted in the current season.
Conab also projects a 12.4% increase in productivity compared to the previous harvest, with a harvest of 34.2 bags per hectare.
According to the company, the improvement in productivity is due to more favorable climatic conditions and the adoption of technologies and good management practices in crops.
Arabica and conilon
Regarding Arabica coffee production, the estimated harvest is 44.1 million bags – an increase of 23.3% compared to the 2025 cycle.
“This increase is attributed to the growth in production area, more favorable weather conditions and the positive biennial period”, detailed the company.
The expectation is also for an increase in the harvest of conilon coffee. The estimated harvest is 22.1 million bags, which represents an increase of 6.4% compared to the production obtained in 2025.
According to Conab, if this projection is confirmed, a new record will be established, driven by the growth in production area and the most favorable weather conditions to date.
