Hernán Huttemann, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, and Camilo Benítez, Comptroller General of the Republic, held a meeting with Mario Abdo Benítez, national president at the Government Palace, on Monday morning.
During the meeting, the comptroller made a presentation to the national president that seeks to improve control activities through technological tools to migrate the subsequent control model currently carried out by the Comptroller’s Office to a preventive control model through the use of software.
The presentation basically consists of a bill that creates a direction in the Comptroller’s Office called “Direction of information, analysis and immediate reaction” (Daily).
“The president promised to analyze this project and also, of course, promised to support any initiative that has to do with the fight against corruption,” said Huttemann.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Benítez affirmed that months ago, comptrollers from the region were in the country. The occasion was used to hold a meeting with Abdo Benítez himself where they presented some strategies on how to improve public spending.
“The national government signed an agreement with the Comptroller of Colombia. They have the Directorate of analysis and immediate reaction. All countries implement, in addition to subsequent controls, preventive controls, with the implementation of tools that allow data crossing and detection of alarms that allow correcting anomalies to reduce corruption rates. And not always being late,” he stated.
