Comptroller of the Republic accepts government decree declaring a State of Exception in the southern zone

The Comptroller General of the Republic was right about the decree promoted by the Government of the President Gabriel Boricto declare a State of Constitutional Exception in the region of La Araucanía and in the provinces of Arauco and Biobío, in the Biobío region, after the latest acts of violence.

With this approval, the only thing missing is for the regulation to be published in the Official Gazette for it to become effective, which will be in force for 15 days from its publication, as presented by the Executive.

The agency approved decree 189, since according to the comptroller, it is in line with the constitutional framework and the powers of the President of the Republic.

“The taking of reason is a legality control tool that does not refer to the merit of the decision,” said the Comptroller. This is because the measure was issued this past Monday.

The decision was announced yesterday by the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Sichesafter weeks of negotiations and analysis of the security measures to be applied in the regions of La Araucanía and Biobío -provinces of Arauco and Biobío- with the idea of ​​protecting the routes and highways of the sector.

“It will allow the supply and execution of policies that can improve the quality of life of the inhabitants in these territories,” Minister Siches specified.
