A little over a month ago, the Ministry of Public Health reported in a statement that Alberto Yagoda was going to leave his position as president of the National Board of Health (Junasa).
The intervention of Casa de Galicia
In October 2021, then-minister Daniel Salinas announced the intervention of the mutual Casa de Galicia after the “serious economic and financial situation” of the company.
Salinas added that the institution had six consecutive negative balances. The appointees were Nuri Santana and the accountant Alicia Rossi.
During the intervention, the MSP denounced among other irregularities the purchase of a clinic for US$ 3.5 million without any previous technical report.
In addition, the interveners denounced the withdrawal of US$ 180,000 from a change without going through the coffers of the mutualist by the last president of the institution, Alberto Iglesias.
