Comptroller indicates that Nelson Shack will participate in proceedings for constitutional complaint

The Comptroller General of the Republic indicated that the head of the institution, is willing to participate in the proceedings carried out for the constitutional complaint filed by the former prosecutor of the Nation Zoraida Ávalos before the Congress of the Republic on March 29, before leaving office.

In this sense, the Comptroller stated that the accusation that Ávalos signed a few hours after leaving office “lacks any legal basis”. In addition, they highlight that it includes the request presented by a citizen, which was previously dismissed by the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations.

Likewise, the institution assured that the former prosecutor obvious that if there had been any omission it would be administrative and not criminal situations “without legal rigour, and at the last minute”.

The complaint was made because Shack Yalta would have incurred in the alleged crime of illegal appointment for having appointed Jackelin del Pilar Mellado Alania and Roy Cristian Vera Chung as regional control managers of the Comptroller in Moquegua and Icarespectively, despite not having the required legal requirements.

The charging document also highlights that Mellado Alania had control experience and only six months and three days of professional experience. Furthermore, he also did not have any of the five professional degrees required for the position.

Likewise, Vera Chung also has no control experience, as stipulated by law. Both, in addition to Nelson Shack, gave their preliminary statements.
