The Comptroller He warned that there are five regional governments that executed less than 50% of S/1,424 million of the budget together they have for public investment.
On September 16 of this year and dates from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Comptroller’s body indicated that among these regions are Áncash, Callao, Huánuco, Lambayeque and Tumbes
“The investment budget must be used to create, expand or modernize hospitals, schools, road or pedestrian works, among others that improve the quality of life of citizens and/or that contribute to the economic development of the region, investments that are duly detailed in their budgetary framework and should be executed in the best conditions of cost, term and quality for the benefit of the population,” said the comptroller
Slow advance
Huánuco records the lowest budgetary progress of resources for investment projects having executed 41.4% (S/154.8 million) of the S/383 million assigned, followed by Lambayeque that has used 44.8% (S/169.0 million) of S/377.1 million assigned to execute public works.
While the Ancash Regional Government invested 44.9% (S/82.6 million) of the 198.5 million that it has received, the Regional Government of Callao has spent only 45.2% (S/109.3 million) of the S/299.7 million assigned and the Regional Government of Tumbes, 49.9% (S/79.3 million) of S/165.3 million.
These entities have accumulated around 50 projects that had to culminate in the first half of the year, which were in execution on August 4 of this year. When the end date of the scheduled execution was met, the entity had to provide actions, in accordance with the applicable regulations, such as the extension or reprogramming of the execution term, or liquidation of the investment project, with the respective record of information updated in the computer system to strengthen the predictability and traceability of public spending.
