The Comprehensive Society of Health Specialists (SIES Salud) set off alarms due to the serious impact that the comprehensive care of more than 24,000 New EPS patientsto whom according to the entity it will not be able to continue guaranteeing health care.
In a letter sent to patients they stated that, as a result of the suspension of resource flow and the non-payment contemplated in the current contracts with the insurer, the service of both the contributory and subsidized regimes could be affected.
The institution, with 19 years of commercial relationship with Nueva EPSreported that despite the commitment demonstrated in the provision of services and health outcomes, the financial situation reached a critical point due to the accumulation of debts and lack of compliance with established payment agreements.
According to SIES Salud, during the last five months the necessary transfers have not been made, even after the EPS committed in October to normalize payments.
“In November, again, the agreements were breached, which left the institution without resources to acquire medicationscarry out laboratories and guarantee other essential procedures“, said.

The organization warned that, despite its own financing efforts and the efforts carried out—including meetings, proposed agreements and formal calls—it has not been possible to obtain an effective response from the EPS.
SIES Salud has been responsible for comprehensive care in health programs HIV, PrEP, arthritis, hepatitis C and palliative care in 890 municipalities in the country, including dispersed areas reached with mobile units in regions such as Tumaco, Guaviare and Barrancabermeja.
Given the lack of economic flow, the institution recognized that it no longer has the necessary supplies and medications to continue care normally, because it also exhausted its ability to pay with its providers.

The entity called on New EPS to reestablish dialogue channels as soon as possible and meet the necessary resources to guarantee the continuity of care and prevent further deterioration in the health of thousands of users.
