A moderate improvement in the frequency of metrobuses in the paid areas of Panama Centro, San Miguelito and Chepo; was detected by the team of the Citizen Support Plan of the Ombudsman’s Office (PAC), during an operation carried out on the morning of this Wednesday, June 15.
Despite this slight improvement, the authorities revealed that user complaints still persist due to waiting times of approximately 30 minutes or more; at the Los Andes, Vía España, Los Pueblos and Balboa stops.
Diego Almanza, director of Citizen Orientation calls on the company Mi Bus, since, during the tour, the lack of signage that provides facilities for people with disabilities when boarding the buses was also observed; as well as inconvenience from users due to the unkind treatment of some checkers at the Albrook Transport Terminal.
The operation is a follow-up action to the surveys initiated on May 25, when users expressed their dissatisfaction with the elimination of around 30 trunk routes; measure applied by the Mi Bus company due to the rise in fuel prices; Metrobus passengers complained about the infrequency of the units, which increased the waiting time at the stops.
The operations were carried out in the paid areas of Balboa, El Parador, Los Pueblos, San Isidro, Los Andes, Ojo de Agua and Chilibre. The Ombudsman’s team is verifying whether or not there were improvements in the quality of the service to present an evaluation report in the coming weeks.
